Nominator's project description
| Alexei Removich Khokhlov has substantially promoted the development of novel biomimetic concepts in polymer science and thereby contributed to a quantitative understanding of structure formation and selforganization of macromolecules. The research he will conduct in Ulm on the sequence design of functional polymers regards one of the major challenges in modern soft matter sciences. This is the prediction and chemical realisation of copolymer sequences that lead to highly specified and intelligent molecular functions following the example of biomacromolecules like proteins DNA and RNA. |
